Just a few cute Emily stories that I want to remember.
Emily loves to dance to music. Her favorite song is "All the single ladies" by Beyonce. I have it on my ipod and whenever she hears it she starts dancing and even singing. She sings that part that goes oh, oh, oh (not sure how to type that out). Yesterday in the car, I had the radio and on and this song happened to come on. She was dancing along and when the part came on about "all the single ladies, put your hands up, " I turned around to see Emily in her carseat with both hands raised up in the air.
Lately, we've had a ton of those roly-poly bugs in our house. I don't know where they are coming from, but I feel like we can't get rid of them. Emily has become quite interested in bugs lately. She has seen me take my shoe and hit a bug to kill it. Now, Emily makes sure to point out any bug she finds and promptly tell me and Shawn about it. And if there is any shoe in sight, she will get it and start hitting the bug with it. We have to teach her to just leave bugs alone. There was a pretty good size spider in the house the other day and Emily picked it up by it's leg (it was very much alive) and carried it over to Shawn to tell him. For those of you that know Shawn, he is not a spider fan. He yelled so loudly, I would have thought she was holding a tarantula. :) But our girl is definitely not scared of bugs. Shawn took a picture of the spider in case it did bite her and we needed to know what kind it was. I have to admit is was pretty good size.
A week or so ago, Emily was insisting on drinking her water out of a pink plastic cup, not her sippy cup. I was in the kitchen and she had me fill it up with some water (I just filled it up about half way) and she went into the family room to drink it. Not a minute later, she was back in the kitchen with me asking for more. So I filled it up half way again. Again, she went back into the family room and a minute or 2 later, she was back in the kitchen with me asking for more. I kept thinking to myself, wow, she is so thirsty. So I filled it up again and handed it to her. This time I followed her into the family room and finally saw what she was up to. She wasn't drinking her water. No, she was pouring it out on the carpet at the bottom of the stairs. Let's just say, that was her last cup of water in the big cup for that night.
The same night she had fun spilling her water, she also tried something new. While I was busy cleaning up the water that she dumped all over the carpet, she ran off to play. She came back about 10 minutes later and was clearly eating something. I didn't remember giving her a snack, so I asked her what she was eating. She opened her mouth and showed me. It was Lily's cat food (the dry crunchies). She spit them all out in my hand. Luckily, she didn't like the taste. :) I'm actually surprised this hasn't happened sooner, but at least I knew it was nothing that would make her sick.
