- I finally updated all the pictures in our picture frames throughout the house. I've been needing to do this for a while now! Now I just need to start printing the hundreds of pictures that I've taken from 2012 for our photo albums. Yes, I'm still one of those people that prints all our pics out. I love to be able to look at them in hard copies, instead of just the computer.
- Lately, Emily has started making up songs about everything she's doing. . .brushing teeth, playing ball, etc. This cracks me up.
- I'm super excited about the Olympics starting! Is anyone else? And even more excited that it fell during my maternity leave. Finally something worth watching during the day! My parents just got back from Europe and during a stop in London they picked up London 2012 Olympic t-shirts for all of us.
- Em told me the other day that she wants to be a ballerina when she grows up.
- Since we started Evan on this, he's been much better. Although, he's still having spurts where you can tell he's just uncomfortable (ie. arching his back, getting real stiff, crying while eating, etc). I'm hoping he's still getting the other formula out of his system. If it continues, I'll be calling the dr. next week. The downside of this formula is that is smells terrible (that's one thing I remember from when Em was on it). And from what I've read, apparently it doesn't taste so good either. I think Evan feels that way because the last few days, his appetite has decreased. Several bottles a day, he'll only drink 2 oz. Normally, he was drinking between 3 and 4 oz. But if it makes his tummy feel better, that's more important than the taste. Also, unfortunately for us, neither this formula, nor the zantac elminates his spitting up. I feel like I end up changing his outfit or my outfit at least once a day. No fun!
- Em has been having some potty accidents at school lately. At first, we thought maybe it was due to Evan arriving, but now her teachers are convinced it's just because she wants to change clothes during the day. So I made a deal with her, that if she would stay in the same clothes all week at school (and hence no accidents), I would take her to the dollar store and she could pick out a few things. That's all it took and no more changing clothes at school! So off we went to the dollar store. Em could have stayed forever! She got to pick out 3 things she wanted to buy. It ended up being a fun Mommy/daughter shopping date!
All ready to go, with money in her purse.
- Yesterday, Em came up to me while I was holding Evan and gave me a kiss. I said to her "that just made my day, Em." To which she responded, "No Mommy, that just made my day." Love my sweet girl!
- And probably our most exciting news. . .we booked a trip for next month to go visit my best friend, Stephanie in CA! We're being spontaneous for once and decided to take a trip out there before I go back to work in September. This will double as a work trip for Shawn, so he won't have to use vacation time (and his flight will be paid for - SCORE!). I'm super excited. Hopefully, both kids will cooperate for us on the plane!
