May Little Things

With school being close to finishing up, we've been really busy around here.  May brought out the nice weather, so we've been spending lots of time outside. . until it just got way too hot at the end of the month.

Evan loves to help Shawn with the blower after he mows the lawn.

Evan couldn't wait to play with the water balloons he got in his Easter basket.

Shawn took the kids fishing at our neighborhood pond.  Both kids actually caught a fish!

Evan had his Kindergarten program followed by a picnic breakfast.  It was super cute.

The kids went to a fun birthday party at the fire station right by our house.

We went swimming at Uncle Kevin's house.

We celebrated Mother's Day by going out to brunch with the cousins.

Emily had a sleepover with Natty one night, so Shawn and I treated Evan to Top Golf.  He loved it.

The kids had field day at school.  I wasn't able to attend, but Em's teacher posted pictures.  I didn't get any pics of Evan.

Evan got sick right before Memorial weekend and spent lots of time sleeping on the couch.

We kicked off Memorial Weekend with going out to dinner.

It was so hot over Memorial weekend that we spent most of the weekend swimming.

Evan had his end of season soccer party at a restaurant one night.

Wrapping up Evan's First Season on the Padres

This was Evan's first season on the Padres baseball team.  We moved him up an age group to be able to play on our neighborhood team and therefore, this season was modified coach pitch.  They each got 3 tries to hit off the coaches pitch and if they missed, then they got to hit off the tee.  The beginning of the season was a bit of a struggle.  He wasn't used to hitting off the pitch.  I worked with him some though and by the end he was doing much better hitting off the pitch!  I'm super proud of his progress there.  He is still a bit afraid of the ball, in terms of fielding/catching, so we've got some work to do in that department.  Baseball isn't his favorite sport, but we'd like him to stick with it for at least 1 more season before deciding it's not for him.  His team has decided to move from single A to AA.  That means it's going to get a bit more competitive.  They will have 2 games a week and some tournaments.  He's going to be a busy guy doing this with soccer too!

Evan is #20

Playing catcher. . he's got the stance down!
