No Training Wheels!

I don't have any pictures of it, but I wanted to make sure I wrote it down for my records.  Today, Evan rode a bike for the first time with no training wheels!  We're super proud of him.  Hopefully I'll get some pictures of him soon.

Stitches

Em added some excitement to our week, last week, when she ended up with 6 stitches in her chin.  Shawn was out of town and the kids were just about ready to go to bed.  Em was sitting on her bathroom counter looking at her tooth in the mirror.  She hopped down and when she did, she nailed her chin.  It caused a huge gash.  I immediately face timed Shawn to confirm my suspicions that she would need stitches.  So off we went to urgent care.  The numbing shots were definitely the worst part and seeing her in tears put me and Evan in tears too.  She was a trooper though and they were able to get her all fixed up pretty quickly.

Luckily she only had to keep them in for 5 days, so it wasn't too bad.  She does have to sit out of sports for 2 weeks to allow it more time to heal, but she's already got a week under her belt.  We certainly don't want to take any chances of her getting hit in the same spot and it opening back up.

Now both kids have had their first and hopefully last set of stitches!

Happy Easter

We spent Saturday night in Burleson celebrating Easter with Shawn's side of the family.  As usual, KK had egg hunts, confetti eggs and silly string.  The kids had a ball and I got zero pics of it all. Oops!

Sunday morning the kids woke up excited to see what the Easter Bunny had left them.  After checking out their baskets they made a beeline for the backyard to hunt the eggs that the Easter Bunny had left them.

We went to brunch with Kevin, Julie, Lauren, Natty, Mimi and Papa.  And then afterwards Em and I went over to their house for a bit and the girls enjoyed playing with confetti eggs.

March Little Things

The most exciting thing we did this month was go on the Disney cruise, but we also had some other fun things that we did too.  Here are all the little things we did this month that didn't get a post all of their own.

We kicked off the month with Emily's second grade program. It was a pajama party theme.  I wasn't good at taking pictures, but here's one I got of her and her bestie, Alexis, after the show.

We spent lots of time outside enjoying the spring weather.

Emily went to a sleepover birthday party for her friend Aubrey.  They spent the night at the Gaylord Texan.

Evan had a Daddy/Son date to get donuts the morning that Emily was at the sleepover.

Sports have started back up.  Our Saturdays are now full of soccer and baseball games.  Emily has been playing goalie for half of the time during her games.

These 3 all play on the same soccer team and all have little brothers on the same soccer and baseball teams.  So we see a lot of them on Saturdays.  This day we split up and me and another mom took these 3 to lunch while the boys waited for their soccer game to start.

Here are the 3 little brothers. . .trading Pokemon cards while the girls play soccer.

Emily hasn't had a haircut in almost a year.  She needed one badly.  I convinced her to chop it short for the summer.  I think it turned out super cute.  I don't think we'll keep it like this long term, but it's nice to have it short every so often.

We ended the month by going to the new Crayola Experience with the Gists.  It was neat, but soo crowded!

Evan Lost a Tooth!

Last Thursday Evan lost his first tooth!  He had been asking for a while now when he would lose one and I told him probably not until he was 6, since that's when Emily lost her first one.  Well, I was wrong.  A couple weeks ago, he was so excited when he felt a loose one.   I thought it would still be a while before it came out, but he surprised me when I got home from work by telling me it fell out at school.

He was so excited for the tooth fairy to come.  He woke up super early in the morning to look at his little tooth pillow to see what she left him.  She had given him $5!  He can't wait to lose another one now.
