Emily's Week At Pine Cove

Em was supposed to go to Pine Cove overnight camp last summer, but with Covid, we ended up delaying it a year.  So after waiting forever, her week finally came.  She was so excited!  She went with her friend, Aubrey, and had the best time.

I spent a ton of time packing and making sure she had everything she needed. . from theme nights to twin bedding and everything in between.  She wasn't able to take her phone with her, but we got pictures throughout the week.  We were able to send her 2 letters and she could send 2 to us.  I was so happy to see and hear that she was having such a good time.

She ended up in a cabin with 3 other girls from McKinney.  Funny that she went to camp 2 hours away and ended up in a cabin with 3 girls that live 10 minutes away from us.  Em said all the girls were really nice and so was their counselor.  She already said she wants to go back next year!  And guess what, Evan wants to join her!

Great Wolf Lodge for Evan's Birthday

In lieu of a birthday party, Evan decided he wanted to go to Great Wolf Lodge instead.  We let him invite 1 friend and he picked his best buddy, Annie, to come.  We got there around 2:00 and hit the waterpark right away.  The wave pool quickly became their favorite spot.  We checked out the outdoor pool too!

After swimming for a while, we took a break and hit up some of the other activities.  . . mining for gems, the wand scavenger hunt and the arcade.  After dinner we called it an early night.

The next morning we were up early and after some Starbucks for breakfast, we were back at the waterpark.  We stayed until around 2:00 and then headed back home.  Both kids had an absolute blast!  I think Evan was pretty happy with his decision on how to celebrate.

Evan Turns 9!

This year Evan's birthday fell on a Saturday and we celebrated all day long.  We met Papa Mike for lunch at Rudy's and then went birthday shopping!  He picked out a new bike and a couple of new toys.  At dinnertime we met Mimi and Papa at Uncle Julio's.  Evan picked that spot specifically because of the chocolate piñata.  Unfortunately due to covid, they haven't brought the piñatas back yet.  So we promised him another trip soon.  After dinner we took the kids to Pinstack and Evan got to run wild in the arcade. . his favorite!  I'd say it was a pretty good way to spend turning 9!

May Little Things

May was a big month!  School ended and I started back in the office 3 days a week.  The kids were excited to kick off summer.  Here are all the little things we were up to in May:

I took Em to get her nails done.  She has been asking forever and I finally took her.  With her eczema she has never been able to go before, but now that she's on the shots it has cleared up enough.  She got a pedicure and a dip manicure with tips.  She loved them!

I took the kids to Urban air one rainy Sunday.  They spent hours running around.

Emily's soccer season finished up.  They ended up winning D2 of GCL. It was a great way to wrap up the last 2 years.

Evan went fishing at the pond several times throughout the month.

Some of our friends invited us to their farmhouse about 30 minutes away.  It was a nice break from all the activities and we had a great time hanging out.

Kallin took the kids to Arbor Hills one morning to hike and explore.  She sent me some pics!
