On Saturday, we had Emily's big birthday bash. All our friends and family were there (all 45 of them!). It was a big crowd, but we had so much fun. And luckily we had really good weather, so people could hang out outside and the kids could play on Emily's swingset.
Shawn and I were up late Friday night and early on Saturday getting everything ready. I was really happy with how everything turned out. It was definitely a Pinkalicious party! Everything was pink, pink, and pink! And I'm warning you now. . .I took a TON of pictures, so this is going to be a long post!
The dining room. . .just another place for people to sit.
My first attempt at paper pom poms
Gotta have the polka dot balloons
My friend, Stephanie, made this banner for Emily. It was soo cute!
I had 6 of her monthly chair pics on display so everyone could see how much she's grown over the last year.
The kitchen table. . .before I put all the food out. We had hotdogs, hamburgers, mini sliders, fruit skewers, pasta salad, baked beans, chips and dip, and cheese and crackers.
More paper pom poms
The bar set up for all the cupcakes and Emily's smash cake.
The entry way table. It had the favors, a copy of the Pinkalicious book for people to sign, and her invitation.
Her party favors. . .cupcake shaped crayons
We needed everyone outside to know there was a birthday party going on.
I realized I never took a picture of the drink table, but we had pink lemonade, water, and several adult beverages. :) The water bottles had personalized labels on them.
Emily's highchair all ready for her. Stephanie made her highchair banner too.
The cupcakes came from Willie Mae's in Plano. They tasted so good. They matched the cupcakes from the Pinkalicious book.

When Emily came downstairs after her morning nap, she was so excited to see everything. She especially loved the balloons. And yes, she was in her jammies until right before the party. I didn't want any accidents on her birthday outfit.
I had to wake Emily up from her afternoon nap to get her all ready, but luckily she was still in a good mood. I think she knew something was going on. Overall, she did well during her party. Although she did have a bit of stranger anxiety and if she caught any glimpse of Shawn or I, she would start crying until we would pick her up.
The only family pic we got, but at least we got one.

After everyone finished eating, we headed inside so Emily could open her gifts. Well, let's be honest, Mommy opened her gifts and Emily sat and played with the tissue paper. She got a TON of nice gifts. Lots of toys and clothes. She was a very lucky girl. Now, if only Emily knew how to write thank you notes. :)
When Shawn pulled her paci out we saw that she had pink frosting on her face. KK snuck her some frosting and we didn't realize it.
After presents, we headed back outside to sing Happy Birthday and have cake. Emily didn't quite know what to think of everyone singing to her. It took her a little while to get going on the cake, but soon enough, she was COVERED in pink frosting. I think she definitely enjoyed it. So much so, that she had to go straight to the tub afterwards.
It was such a fun party. After everyone left, Emily got a sudden burst of energy (probably from all the sugar) and played with some of her toys before bed. Thanks everyone for coming. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves.
