My baby is 1 today! I still can't believe it!
Here's what's happening with Emily at 1 year:
- She's wearing 6-12 month clothes and a size 2-3 diaper.
- She's starting to sleep in even longer on the weekends. She now usually wakes up between 7:30 and 8:00. I wake her up around 6:45 on weekdays and she is not a fan of this.
- She's still taking 2 naps on the weekend, 1 nap during the week.
- She sometimes cries when you tell her no.
- She can say mama, dada, ball, ticka ticka ticka (tickle, tickle, tickle).
- She has 2 teeth on the bottom and 1 on the top that's about to break through. She's making up for lost time, by getting several at once.
- You can tell she has learned a lot over the last couple of months. She knows that bows go on her head, you hold a phone up to your ear and sunglasses go on your head. When you say hi or bye bye, she waves.
- She can stand on her own.
- She's taken 3-4 steps on her own.
- She's still not a fan of fruit. She prefers veggies, pasta, meat, and cheese.
- She has started standing and crawling in the bathtub. She also likes to lie down on her belly in the tub.
- We're working on transitioning her from a bottle to a sippy cup.
- She likes to "share" her toys and her food. She hands it to you, but wants you to give it right back.
- She likes to climb up the stairs (even when we tell her no) and can get almost all the way to the top. She doesn't know how to go down.
