Sunday Funday

This past Sunday we took the kids to the Sci Tech Discovery Center.  It was only about 10 minutes away from our house and I had no idea that it even existed until my sister-in-law told me about it the week before.  It was super fun for the kids.  It's all hands on activities for kids.  Emily loved it and probably could have stayed there even longer had her brother not been getting a little fussy.  All Evan wanted to do was carry stuff around.

Evan could have picked apples all day!

Em loved making bubbles.

After the museum we went back home and ate lunch before the kids went down for a nap.  Evan woke up first and got to have the whale pool to himself for a while.  He loved playing in it!  Em woke up later and swam only for a little bit.  I think she was still pretty sleepy from her recital the day before and was not in the mood for any pics.

Saying Goodbye to the Infant Swing

It truly is a sad day at the Baxter house!  We have finally said goodbye to the beloved infant swing.  Now, you might laugh, but this swing has held both of my babies for a long time and it brings back great memories for me.  Both Em and Evan were swing babies.  They loved this thing.  They took the best naps ever in it.   There were even nights that our babies slept in it because they were so congested and needed to be upright.  We've used more batteries than we even could count (they didn't make them plug in when we got it).  It was by far the best baby item we ever got.  Emily and Evan used it consistently until they were 1.  It's bittersweet to say goodbye to the swing!

Emily's First Dance Recital

Saturday afternoon Em had her very first dance recital.  I won't lie, I've been looking forward to this day since she started dance last summer!  I just hoped that she would be as excited as I was and luckily, she was!  She definitely loves to perform and didn't get shy at all when she was on stage.  Her dance was to "splish, splash" and super cute!  As crazy expensive as dance class is, it's all worth it to see your baby perform on stage and absolutely love it!

Em is in a 2-3 year old creative movement class.  It's basically just ballet.  In the fall, she'll be in the 3-4 year old class and do ballet and tap, which I know she's looking forward to. Here are some pics taken on Thursday, the day of her rehearsal.

These are after the show on Saturday afternoon.  Em was a lucky girl and had lots of people come watch her. . Mimi, Papa, KK, Uncle Kevin, Aunt Julie, Lauren, Natalie and of course, Mommy, Daddy and Evan.
She loved all the flowers she got afterwards!

Em with her biggest fan!

Sweet friends, Aubrey and Em.  They have loved dancing together this year.

I recorded her dance during the dress rehearsal and had hoped to post it, but after 2 nights of trying and it still not loading, I gave up.  Sorry you can't watch it, but trust me when I say it was super cute!  :)

Father's Day

On Friday, the kids brought home their father's day gifts that they had made in school.  Em made Shawn a bookmark and Evan made him a picture frame.

Sunday was a pretty busy day for both Shawn and Em.  They had tickets to go to the Ranger's game with his dad, brother and nephews.  Even though their seats were up high, it sounds like they had a blast.   Shawn kept me updated with lots of pictures.

Myles (5.5), Emily (3.5), Mason (8)

While they were at the game, Evan and I went over to my parents house to celebrate Father's Day with my family.  Shawn and Em met us over there after the game for a little swimming.
