This past Sunday our friends, The Terry's, invited us to go to Six Flags with them. We got to the park right when it opened at 11:00 and were able to get on a few rides really quickly. While Em and Shawn rode, me and Evan would just find a shady spot to sit and watch. I loved seeing how much fun Em was having on her first trip to an amusement park. I wasn't sure what to expect going into it, but overall, Em loved it! The only ride she said was a little scary was the mini mine train. I actually rode that one with her and I would have been a little scared if I was 3 too. I wasn't expecting it to jerk you around as much as it did. I was surprised too at how many rides she was able to go on. It was so many that we didn't even ride them all, and we were there for over 5 hours! I think her favorite ride may have been roaring rapids. She loved getting wet and was soaked when she got off it. Evan did great too. He was very content sitting in his stroller and people watching. He even catnapped for a little bit. I was bummed that he couldn't ride much, but we did take him on the carousel at the very end of the day and he loved it! He had a huge grin on his face the whole time. I know this is just the first of many trips to Six Flags, but I'd say the first one was definitely a success. We'll have to take Evan back in a couple years so he can ride too.
Welcome to our family blog! Shawn and I have been married for 9 years and we were blessed with our daughter, Emily, in October 2009 and our son, Evan, in June 2012. Follow along with our adventures as a family of 4.
