April Little Things

Well, we made it an entire month in quarantine.  This April looked dramatically different than any other April we've ever had.  The kids spent the entire month doing e-learning at home.  Shawn and I both worked the entire month at home and all of the kids activities were cancelled.  Besides our neighbors, we didn't see or hang out with anyone.  It was so strange and we all really missed "normal" life.  Half way through the month we learned that school would be closed the rest of the school year.  Emily was super disappointed, but Evan was excited.  We ended the month with hope that things would start to open back up in May.  Here are some pictures from our month in quarantine.

Zoom calls became the new norm.  Shawn did HH zoom call with his friends one night.

We put together puzzles in our spare time.

The kids practiced their target shooting with the BB gun.

Emily had twice weekly zoom soccer practices, but she was also given individual workouts she had to get done each week.  They involved lots of running, so we made lots of trips to the track.

The kids did lots of chalk art.

Shawn had the kids wash my car one night.  It started with them throwing water balloons at my car.

And ended with a water gun fight in the backyard.

Shawn's company did an art contest for all kids.  Both of our kids entered and Emily was 1 of the winners (they just drew names).  She won a Tiff Treat's delivery!  Here they are on the zoom call with everyone showing off their art.

We celebrated Easter.  .at home.  alone.

The kids had several water balloon fights.

Shawn and the kids all got quarantine hairdo's.  Shawn shaved his head. Evan got a mohawk and Emily dyed the tips of her hair blue.

We started having weekly date nights with the neighbors.  Trading off houses each Friday night.  Emily and Grace performed a dance routine for us this night.

Shawn hung up Evan's hammock outside.
