It's been an exciting year for us.  We can't wait to see what 2011 will bring us.  Happy New Year!

New Year's Eve

We were lucky enough find a baby-sitter for New Year's Eve so we could go out and enjoy a nice dinner without kids.  I was so sad that Kara and Matt couldn't join us, but we were thankful that our other friends, Courtney and Grant, could.  We went to Artin's Grill in Plano.  None of us had ever been there.  I thought the food was great and it was a nice atmosphere.  We took our time at dinner and then headed back home.  After being on the go for the three days, I barely made it past midnight!

Fort Worth Zoo / Canton

While us girls headed out to do some shopping in Canton on Friday, the boys ventured out with all the kids to the Fort Worth Zoo.  We all sent our camera's with them as we knew we'd much rather see pictures of their day.  They were all really good about taking pictures.   It sounded like they all had a blast and the kids all held up pretty well.  Shawn said Emily's favorite part of the zoo was the lions.

Shawn said they only saw part of the zoo, so I think we'll put this on our list of things to do when it warms up a little bit.

Us girl's had such a good time in Canton.  It was really nice to be able to chit-chat without having to take care of kids at the same time.  We came home with lots of good stuff.  I got some squeaker shoes for Emily, 2 picture frames, a couple dips, and some fudge.  Here were my finds. . .

Not the best picture of her shoes, but trust me. . .they are soo cute!

I liked this frame because it was different.  No glass, you just clip on the picture.

Fort Worth Children's Museum

Thursday morning, we met up with Matt, Kara, Hudson, and Lucas to go to the Fort Worth Children's Museum.  We mainly stayed in the children's area, which was actually much smaller than I expected.  Emily enjoyed playing in the toddler area, but I think her favorite area was the trains.  I think it would have been a bit more enjoyable if Emily was just a little bit older, but it was still fun hanging out with everyone.

After the museum we headed to Babe's Chicken for some lunch.  This was one of Steph's few requests when she came to visit.  Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures at Babe's, but we did have a good time.
