Happy 14 months!
Here's what's happening with Emily at 14 months:
- She mainly wears size 6-12 month clothes and we have now moved her up to size 3 diapers.
- She wears size 3.5 shoes.
- She loves her jacket. It doesn't matter which jacket, but if she sees one of hers, she wants it (and will actually cry until we give it to her). I think she associates her jacket with going outside, which she loves. This girl could play outside all day if we let her.
- She can show you where her belly button, nose, and eyes are.
- She's slowly adding to her vocabulary. She has added the word "bye" to her list. She tries to repeat everything and anything we do or say.
- She is a total Daddy's girl! When he's in the room, she wants his full attention.
- She will give high-fives when asked.
- She still loves to snack. She wants to snack all day long!
- She likes for us to sing to her. I think her favorite is the itsy bitsy spider. She'll start doing the hand movements when she wants you to sing it. And she'll always clap for you when you're done.
- She loves to sit in her pink chair and read her books. She gets frustrated with herself whenever she tries to turn the pages and ends up dropping her book.
- She has started crawling backwards.
- She's starting to take a lot more steps on her own and will try and walk without us having to encourage her. Every day for the last week or so, she has taken some steps on her own. I think she's up to about 10 or 12 steps on her own. She will stand herself up and then take very tiny steps. By next month's post, I know we will have a full walker on our hands.
- We're still giving her 2 bottles a day. I know, I know. . .my goal is to transition her off of them over the next month.
- She has 6 teeth - 4 on top and 2 on the bottom.
- She's starting to climb on anything that's the right height. She'll climb on the coffee table from her chair and also on the dishwasher when it's down. I think I might have an acrobat on my hands.
-She loves to shake her head no.
- She can sign "more" and "all done."
