May Little Things

It's been a busy month for us as the kids have finished up school. . .

Emily had her book character parade at school.  She was Cat in the Hat.

Emily went to her friend, Bellsie's, puppy birthday party.

Evan finished up his last month at Primrose and he had muffins with Mom for Mother's Day.

We enjoyed more nice weather.

Emily had her last girl scout meeting as a Daisy.

We had a baby cardinal nest in our backyard and the kids anxiously waited for the eggs to hatch.

We had our first harvest from our garden. . .green beans!

Emily performed in the Alphabest talent show with 2 of her friends.  They sang the song "Fight club." Unfortunately, the video is too big to upload, but trust me when I say it was super cute!

We counted down how many morning drop offs were left this school year.

The kids tried out our new bathtub for the first time.

Emily had field day at school.

Memorial Weekend Camping Trip

A couple of years ago, Shawn and Kevin took all the girls camping for a night.  Since then the girls have been asking when we could go again.  So we decided we would take them for a night over Memorial Day weekend, but Evan would obviously go and so would Julie and I.

We packed up half our house, or so it seemed, and headed to Eisenhower state park near Lake Texoma on Friday night.  Lucky us, it also happened to be the hottest day of the year thus far.  We set up our tent and hung out Friday night and sweat a lot!  The kids enjoyed exploring and making smores.

Saturday morning we woke up bright and early, packed up and headed to the marina to rent a boat for a few hours.  The kids loved taking turns driving the boat and even though the water was freezing all of the kids got in.

Early afternoon we headed back home and both kids fell asleep shortly after we got in the car.  I think the kids really enjoyed camping. As for me, if we're being real honest, camping wasn't nearly as fun as I remember it being when I was in my early 20's and had no kids. :)

Evan's Primrose Graduation

Last Thursday, Evan had his Pre-K graduation.  It was super cute. They sang several songs, did a video of the kids saying what they would do if they were President, and then had a slideshow with the kids baby pictures as well as pictures from the last year.  Evan sang loudly and was super excited about graduating.  We celebrated with ice cream afterwards.

Evan's very last week of Primrose is this week and then he's home for the summer.  It's a little bittersweet that our time at Primrose is coming to an end, but I'm so excited for Evan to start Kindergarten and be back at the same school as Emily.

WOGA In House Meet

This past weekend Em participated in the WOGA in house meet.  She did great!  It was fun to see her show off all the things she has learned in gymnastics.
