There are just a few rooms in our house that we really haven't touched at all since moving in. The master bedroom and bathroom are among them. The bathroom still had all the brass builder fixtures and the original shower and tub. For some time now, Shawn has been warning me that we would need a new shower. This reached a head when some of the tiles started coming off and we noticed black mold behind them. So after much debate over what to do, we decided if we need to replace the shower, let's just do a complete gut and build the bathroom that we really wanted. In addition to wanting a bigger shower, we also hated our tub. It was a huge corner, jetted tub. It just took forever to fill up and took up so much room in the bathroom. I also didn't like our cabinets. My side was shorter than Shawn's and there was a gap in the middle to make room for a stool. The problem was, I never used it as a vanity and really missed the lack of storage space we had. We both scoured pinterest and came up with what we really wanted, then met with a contractor and designer and had everything picked out. They originally estimated that it was a 3 week project, well that turned into 8 long weeks. But now it's finally done and I love it!!
Here's the before pics.

| I hated the lack of storage space! |
 |
| Shawn had bought these cabinets at home depot and installed them since there was nothing in here when we bought the house. |
 |
| See how giant the tub is. Our kids loved it, but since neither of us are "tub" people, we wanted the space more than the giant tub. And oh how I don't miss all the brass! |
 |
| See that awkward space between the shower and tub? |
And here's the work in progress. It was actually really interesting to see how they built it all.

| I definitely don't miss those brass hollywood lights! |
And here is the final product! I absolutely love it! I took the pictures at night, so the lighting was a bit off, but trust me when I say it looks beautiful in person. I still have some decorating to do, but who knows when I'll be done, so I didn't want to wait to post.

| I love all the storage space we have now! |

| A bit hard to tell because of the lighting, but the floor tiles look like wood planks. The designer thought this would help tie the bathroom in to the decor with the rest of our house since we have the dark wood floor downstairs. She was so right. I love the look of the wood, but in a tile form. |
And here's a quick reminder of the before and then the after. So much better!!
And now I want to redo our entire house! Ha. Next up is new carpet
upstairs and re-doing our master bedroom (new paint, bedding, decor,
fixtures, etc).
And just for my notes, here is a list of everything we used in the bathroom:
