Spring Break Trip to Destin - Day 5

Saturday was our last day in Destin.  I was so not ready to go home.  So much had changed in just the 5 days since we had been in Florida.  I wasn't quite sure just what we were going back to.  In the end, I'm so glad that we went on this trip.  We all needed a break from reality, more than we would ever know.  And there's no telling when our next trip would be.

We didn't fly out until 7:00 pm Saturday night, so we still had the most of the day to soak up the sunshine.  Evan had so much fun fishing the morning before, that he wanted to go back out this morning.  Emily decided to join them.  So while they were gone, I slept in and packed us all up.

When they got back we ate breakfast and then checked out of our room.  I had wanted to check out all the little towns along 30A, so that's what we did.  We stopped in Watercolor and walked over the Seaside.  We ate lunch, stopped for a few drinks and shopped a bit.  It was a perfect way to spend our last day.

Spring Break Trip to Destin - Day 4

Friday morning, Evan and Shawn woke up super early (6:45 am) and headed out to do some morning fishing on one of the piers.  They were gone for several hours.  Everything was catch and release, but Evan had the very best time!

While they were fishing, Em and I slept in and then grabbed some breakfast at the hotel before going down to the beach to rent some chairs.  It was starting to get much more crowded at the hotel this day!  The beach was packed by the end of the day.

It was a really warm day.  When the boys got back from fishing, they met us out at the beach and we spent the majority of the day enjoying the beach.  Evan swam, while Em built sandcastles and made some new friends and played lots of volleyball.

She made this dolphin all by herself!  It was awesome.

I had been wanting to get some pics of the kids on the beach and this was the night.

We ended the night with dinner at the restaurant by the pool.  I was sad that this was our last full day!
