January
After the busy holidays, this was a quiet month for us. Emily started gymnastics and has loved it ever since. Evan continued to have ear infections and he moved to the older side of the infant room at school. We took the kids to the Children's Aquarium in Dallas. After several tries, we were finally able to get the kids pictures taken.
February
We took advantage of some nice weather this month and visited the park. We also celebrated Evan's first Valentine's Day. Shawn turned 35! Evan got his first tooth and started eating table food.
Shawn and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary with a trip to Fredericksburg. Evan turned 9 months and started crawling. We celebrated Easter at the end of the month.
April
After all the ear infections, we finally decided enough was enough and Evan got tubes put in. It was the best decision we ever made and he was like a new baby afterwards! Shawn went on his annual boy's canoe trip. I took Em to her school's Spring Fling where she got to ride a pony. We took the kids to a Roughrider's Game and took our annual bluebonnet pics too. Emily started swim lessons at the end of the month.
Evan started walking this month and we realized what it was like to have a mobile little boy in the house! We spent lots of days swimming in the pool and I also celebrated my first Mother's Day as a Mom of 2.
June
This was a busy month for us. Evan turned 1 and we celebrated with a big party at home. Emily also had her very first dance recital! Emily had her last day of preschool. Shawn celebrated his first Father's Day as a Dad of 2 with a Ranger's Game and dinner at Mimi and Papa's. We took the kids to Six Flags and also the Sci-Tech Discovery Center.
July
We took a trip with our friends to San Antonio and spent some time enjoying Sea World and the hotel's lazy river. We also took the kids to the Zoo and to the splash park. Evan got his first haircut ever and moved to the Toddler room at school.
August
Emily started Pre-K at school and also finished up a cheerleading class at school with a pep rally. She started soccer and had her first practice. Daddy took Emily to a Home Depot workshop. We had our family pictures taken. I also traded in my 10 year old Ford Escape for a new Honda CRV.
September
We went to our neighborhood's first ever block party and got to climb inside a firetruck. Emily had her first soccer goal and scored a goal. Evan decided he loved to climb on things and kept us very busy chasing after him!
October
Emily turned 4 years old and we celebrated with a big party at ASI Gymnastics. We made our annual trip to the Pumpkin Patch. We did lots of trick or treating - at Mommy's office, at School and in our neighborhood. Evan got his first black eye and also started classes at My Gym.
We celebrated Thanksgiving over at KK's. We visited the Gaylord Texan and saw the Ice show and sat on Santa's lap. Emily started tap and ballet.
December
We started off the month with a terrible ice storm and spent 4 long days inside. We welcomed back our elf, Buddy, with a North Pole Breakfast. Evan turned 18 months. We celebrated Christmas and got lots of fun, new toys. Mommy took Emily to see a Disney Live show.
Overall, it was a pretty quiet year compared to the last few. We already have a couple fun trips planned for 2014, so I'm looking forward to them and to whatever else the new year might bring.
