The news started forecasting winter weather several days ago, but I never really thought it would pan out. After all, they forecasted it just a couple weeks ago and we got nothing. However, this time it panned out. I was actually a bit disappointed that it did, as we had several things planned this weekend. So far everything has been cancelled or will be rescheduled. Now I'm just hoping by Sunday it's better so me and my mom can still take Em to see the Nutcracker!
We were stuck inside all day yesterday. 1 day of being stuck inside is about all I can handle! This weather reminds me of the time a few years ago when Em was 1 and her and I were iced in for a week. Shawn was out of town, so it was just her and I. It was a LONG week! Haha. You can read about that week here and here.
I took both kids outside when they woke up from their naps. I think both of them were excited to get out of the house too! Both kids loved being outside, especially Evan! He kept sliding and falling all over the place, but he still loved it. He so badly wanted to swing and go up in his fort, but I had to keep telling him they were all icy. Em made it outside a little while before deciding she was too cold and headed in. Evan, on the other hand, wanted nothing to do with going back inside. In fact, he started screaming when I first took him back in. So we just went out to the front yard instead. I think this boy could have stayed outside and played in the ice all day!
We're going on day 2 now of being iced in. Hoping it doesn't last much longer!!!
Sorry for the picture overload, I couldn't choose. . . :)
Our poor tree is hanging so low because of the ice. I'm praying we don't lose it!!
Evan decided to try out the ice trampoline. Much more dangerous than your normal trampoline. :)
Another poor tree I'm hoping we don't lose!
It's hard to believe that just a few days ago it was in the high 70's! That's Texas weather for ya!!
