Emily started 7th grade this year. It's her second year of middle school, so not a whole lot of changes for her. She's super excited to be able to participate in school sports this year! I have a feeling she's going to be very busy this year.

First Day of 5th Grade
Before we knew it, it was time for school to start back up! Summer seemed long until August hit and then it flew by.
Evan is in 5th grade this year. His last year at Isbell and the big man on campus! He got a new teacher as his homeroom teacher, Mrs. Norman and Mrs. Head as his switch teacher. I'm hoping he has a great year.
The 5th graders kicked off the year with a donut party at the park on the first day of school. Then on Friday afternoon, they had a pool party. Not a bad way to kick off the school year.

Conversations with Evan
It's been a long time since I've done 1 of these posts, but I couldn't pass this chance up:
Evan was making blueberry muffins 1 morning (yes, he's quite good in the kitchen these days) and Shawn came down to him lightly hitting the outside of an egg with a fork. Shawn asked what he was doing and he said he was "lightly beating the egg." Shawn explained to him what that really meant and Evan responded with "oh, I've been making banana bread wrong all this time." LOL. Love that sweet boy of mine and all his baking / cooking that he does.

July Little Things
Here are all the little things we were up to in July:
We painted Emily's bedroom. She had been asking to paint over the aqua walls for a while now, so we finally just did it. It was a lot of work, but Shawn and I knocked it out in just about a day.
Julie took Natty and Emily to Grapevine Mills to see the Stranger Things store.
Emily had 3 days of cheer camp to prepare for their school year. They had a pool party after the first day and the last day, they had a showcase that parents could attend so we could see everything they had learned.
The team party was followed up by a week of soccer fitness camp. Lots of early mornings for this girl, but she was up for the challenge.
