Soccer Signing Day - Renegades

After her rec season of soccer ended this year, Emily mentioned wanting to try club soccer instead.  We had gone down this route last summer and it didn't end well, so I was a bit hesitant, but I also knew that if Em wanted to progress at all in soccer, she'd have to switch to club.  So I reached out to a team that practiced not too far from our house and the coach told me to bring Em out to practice.  After just her 2nd practice, the coach told us that her '09 team was full, but she was hopeful that she might have enough girls for a second '09 team, so keep coming out.  So that's what we did for the next month and a half.  Luckily, in the end the coach was able to have enough girls to form 2 teams.  Em was super excited to make the team.  She will be playing on a Renegades team.  I'm not really sure what we're getting ourselves into, but we're now jumping in to select soccer with 2 feet.

Each year, select soccer contracts start on July 1.  We had to sign paperwork and make payments this day, but we didn't actually have the team signing party until the following weekend.  It was a good chance for Emily to meet all the other girls and for us to meet their parents.

June Little Things

June was a jam packed month full of BIG things . . our Disney cruise and Evan's birthday.  But we also had several smaller things that happened during the month.

While I don't have any pictures of it, I switched jobs after 14 years this month.  That has been a big change for me!  But now let's get to the little things that I did manage to get pictures of...

As I mentioned above, we celebrated Evan's 7th birthday this month.  Since we had just gotten back from our cruise, we weren't able to take the day off to spend with him, but we did send the kids somewhere fun with the nannies and we had cake that night.

Excited about some birthday money he got in the mail.
Evan went to his friend, Dani's birthday party.  She and Evan went to Primrose together and they have known each other since they were babies.

The party wore him out!

Both kids went to Pine Cove Camp in the City at the end of the month.  They both really enjoyed it.  Emily is now asking to go to the overnight camp next summer!

We went to my friend, Michele's house one weekend for lunch and swimming.  My kids were in heaven because they also had their horse there and each of the kids got to take a turn riding it.

The kids went to the park one day to ride bikes and found some ducks at the pond too.
