January I Phone Pics

Evan loves that he can fit in this basket. . after he takes all the toys out of it.

Evan and Landon on New Year's Day

More fun in the basket

He picked out this shirt all by himself.  He said it makes him look handsome. . ignore the princess wand.

He loves to sit with one leg crossed over the other.

The Gists came over for dinner one night and Grace gave Evan a ride on his four wheeler.

The best pic we got of the big kids.  They never stopped moving.

If this hole looks about the size of Evan's head, it's because it was made by his head.  He fell backwards in his chair after pushing away from the dinner table and his head hit the wall.  Luckily because of the large area of his head that hit and the wall giving in, he was more scared than hurt.  And we were left with a big hole in the wall.

I love getting happy grams like this.

Daddy and Evan fixing the hole in the wall.  Let's hope he doesn't fall backwards again because Daddy reinforced the hole very well.

Enjoying the nice weather.  We had some 70 and 80 degree weather in January!

Legs crossed again.

Making smores.

These 2 love their kindles that Santa brought them.  Every so often it's nice to have some peace and quiet in the house.

We had the cousins over one day while their Mommy and Daddy were out of town.  We made V-day crafts.

And then I took them all to the park.

Working on her math skills at school.

Conversations With Evan

On Sunday, I was watching Lauren and Natalie at our house.  I was upstairs with the 3 girls and Evan went downstairs.  It was really quiet, so I went down to check on him.  I couldn't see him, so I yelled out asking where he was and he just kept replying "but I'm hungry, Mommy."  I finally found him sitting behind the counter in the kitchen.  He had gotten a chair and gotten down a bag of freshly made cookies from the counter that I baked earlier in the day and was helping himself to them.  When I asked him what he was doing, he just replied "but I'm hungry, Mommy."  So we now have a cookie monster in the house.  :)

Evan and I were talking about all his friends at school one night and this is the conversation we had. . .

Me : "Do you have a girlfriend at school, Evan?
Evan : With a big smile on his face he said "Caitlyn.  I like her."
Me: "Is Caitlyn pretty?"
Evan: "She wears a ponytail in her hair.  I like them."

Adventures With Normus

Em's Pre-K class has a pet guinea pig named Normus.  Each week, a different child is named the zoologist.  They are in charge of helping feed Normus and cleaning his cage.  At the end of the week, they have the option to bring Normus home for the weekend.  Em has been waiting a long time, but a couple of weekends ago, it was finally her turn to be the zoologist.  We took Normus home on Friday night and both kids were super excited about having him at home.  I'll be honest, I wasn't too excited about Normus at first, but it actually ended up being kind of nice to have an animal in the house again.  Both kids loved petting him and Emily was really good about remembering to feed him and change his water and the cage.  Both kids were pretty sad when Monday morning rolled around and it was time to take Normus back to school.
