Spring Break 2019

Leading up to spring break week, we had no plans.  We had taken our big trip over Christmas break this year and had told the kids there would be no trips and no surprises.  With that said, the kids ended up having a pretty fun week.

The week before, our friends, the Gists, asked if we wanted to join them in Broken Bow for a few days.  Grant's parents had rented a house and after some plans changed, they ended up having some extra room.  We weren't able to go the entire time they went, but we jumped at the chance to get away for a few days.  We headed out Sunday afternoon and stayed until Tuesday afternoon.  The kids had a blast together.

Mimi and Papa watched the kids for us on Wednesday and they took them to the Perot museum for the day.  There was a neat lego exhibit going on.

Thursday and Friday, KK took the kids to Lake Tyler.  One of her friends has a lake house there and she was going with her grand kids and invited Karen, Emily and Evan to come stay too.  Shawn and I got to enjoy a rare week night date night while the kids were gone.

While this wasn't our normal spring break with a big trip, it still was a pretty great week for the kids!

February Little Things

February was a mix of freezing cold weather and beautiful, warm weather.  The kids sports started back up, but so did the rain which meant they didn't get to play any games and only got a couple practices in.  Emily also came down with the flu and missed 3 days of school.  Luckily she didn't pass it on to the rest of us.

I caught this picture one night when I went in to turn Evan's lamp off.  I loved how he put several stuffed animals in bed with him and tucked them all in.

The kids had a 4 day weekend for President's day.  On Friday, we met up with Courtney and Grace at Ninja Nation.  Then all the Gists came over for dinner.

On that Monday, Emily went to a soccer clinic up at the high school and then Shawn took the kids to Dave and Buster's with Tommy and Aubrey.  He failed me though and didn't take any pics.

Emily spent a couple days selling girl scout cookies with her troop.

We celebrated National Margarita Day by going out to dinner at Wild Salsa's.

This is how Emily sleeps most nights.  She has soo many stuffed animals and refuses to take them out of her bed.  So she sleeps at the bottom with a blanket.

And to end, just a couple of random pics.

March is about to get really busy with soccer and baseball games starting.  I'm ready for some consistent warm weather too!
