Isbell Fun Run

On Friday, Emily participated in the annual Fun Run at her elementary school.  Each year the kids try to raise money for the PTA and in the middle of the fundraising they do the fun run.  Each year they have a different theme for the fun run and this year it was the Cowboys Star Fun Run.  I went into work late on Friday so I could go and cheer Emily on.  The Kindergartners kicked off the race.  They ran 1 big lap all around the park next to the school and got to run through 3 or 4 obstacle stations.   Em did great at her first fun run!

Go Cowboys

Last weekend Shawn went to the Cowboys vs. Giants game with several of the guys from my family. The kids and I stayed home, but the kids still wore their Cowboys gear to support Daddy's team.  It must have worked, because they came away with a last second win.

Have I mentioned how fancy their tailgate is?  Burgers aren't good enough for them, must be steak and lobster.

Labor Day Weekend

After a busy couple of weeks with school starting back up, I think we were all looking forward to a three day weekend.  Shawn left Friday morning to go hunting with his family, so me and the kids enjoyed some fun times with just the 3 of us.

Saturday morning I took the kids to the Sci Tech Discovery Museum.  We haven't been in about 2 years and the kids loved it.  We stayed about an hour and a half, but they would have stayed much longer if I let them.  We went out to lunch and then headed back home so Evan could nap.  Em ended up telling me her throat hurt so we changed up our afternoon plans and headed over to the after care dr.  I got both kids tested for strep, just to be sure.  Luckily, Evan was negative, but Em was positive. I hated knowing she would be sick for part of her holiday weekend, but that was nothing a little Bahama Bucks couldn't fix.

Shawn ended up coming Saturday night instead of Sunday like he had planned because the hunting wasn't good, so we were able to enjoy a couple days all together before heading back to the hustle and bustle.
