A Week Into Kindergarten

Emily made it through her first week of Kindergarten with flying colors.  Actually, we all made it through!  :)  After only 2 days, Em felt comfortable enough with me just dropping her off each morning instead of me walking her into her classroom.  I was pretty proud of her for this considering she was in a different classroom each day.

At the end of the day on Friday, the entire school went out to the parking lot to watch the annual Kindergarten balloon release.  It's supposed to be their official welcome to the school and represent their learning taking flight.  I wasn't able to attend, but another mom took a few pics for me and  I also grabbed a few pics off Twitter.  After the balloon release, the final Kindergarten class lists were posted and Emily got to meet her permanent teacher and bring in school supplies.   Emily got assigned to Miss Surplus's room.  This is the teacher Emily had Monday and Friday.  She ended up in a class with a couple of her friends, so I was excited for her.  I'm hoping this will be a great year for Em!  I can't wait to see how much she grows over this next year.
