Christmas Advent Calendar

My mom got an advent calendar for me this year and I was so excited to use it.  I slacked a little bit this year when it came to activities though.  I need to start thinking of ideas earlier next year!

Day 1 - Decorate the Christmas Tree and See the Movie, Frozen

Day 2 - Write a letter to Santa

Day 3 - Watch Polar Express

Day 4 - New Christmas Jammies

Day 5 - Watch the Sound of Music (I may have cheated a bit on this day.  I really wanted to watch the Live sound of music and convinced Em we should do that for the calendar activity.)

Day 6 - Play Christmas Bingo

Papa Mike got to play too.  He lost power during Icemageddon, so he stayed the night with us.

Day 7 - Read the Nutcracker Book.  We were supposed to go see the Nutcracker on Day 8, but the darn ice ruined that for us!

Day 8 - Make a Gingerbread House

Day 9 - Have some hot chocolate with Marshmallows

Day 10 - Family "snowball" fight (with marshmallows)

This activity was a family favorite!  We found marshmallows for days!

Day 11 - Silver Bells Memory Game

Day 12 - Video from Santa

Day 13 - Foam Snowman Craft

Day 14 - Make Christmas Cookies

Day 15 - Have a picnic by the Christmas Tree

Day 16 - Make Reindeer Food

Day 17 - Make a snowman craft

Day 18 - Watch Elfed video

Both kids loved this.  They watched the video about 15 times.

Day 19 - Reindeer snack

Day 20 - PJ Day and Christmas party at School / Look at Christmas Lights

This picture cracks me up.  It was taken right before school.  Can you tell Em applied her own lip gloss?  And see Evan in the background.  Just a normal day for us.  :)

Day 21 - Breakfast with Santa/ Christmas at KK's

Day 22 - Dinner with the Gists (I may have cheated a bit with this one.  I was so tired once our friends left and we got the kids ready for bed, that I didn't have the energy to do an activity, so this was it)

Day 23 - Make Grinch a Bob's

Day 24 - Put out milk /cookies for Santa and reindeer food

Day 25 - Christmas Day
