Saturday morning we woke up early and we cleaned the house to get ready for Shawn's family coming over. They came over late afternoon and we all went to our neighborhood pool to go swimming. Emily and her cousins loved the pool. It has been sooo HOT that the only way it's really bearable to be outside is when you're in the pool. We all went back to our house and chatted on our new porch while Shawn grilled out. After dinner we pulled out the sparklers. Just like I knew she would, Emily loved the sparklers. She's not afraid of anything.
Look who Emily insisted sit with her at the picnic table. He looks thrilled, huh.
Saturday night was rough. Emily woke up several times wheezing (or that's what it sounded like to us). I took a turn rocking her and then Shawn did. After an hour or so, Shawn came back to bed and brought Emily with him. She slept right on him for another couple of hours. She was so excited when she woke up. She turned and said Dada and then looked at me and said Mama. I was just surprised she slept in our bed at all. In the past, when she's woken up and I've tried to do that, she screams at the top of her lungs because she wants nothing to do with the big bed.
Sunday afternoon we headed to Burleson for another fun filled day. Shawn's mom and stepdad grilled out hamburgers and hotdogs for us all. Emily enjoyed another day of playing with her cousins. We had another late night though, so by the end of Sunday I was just exhausted. I think being outside in the 100 degree weather just wears me out! Is it too soon to already be wishing for fall weather! It's going to be a long 3 months!
