Disney Cruise Vacation Day 2 - Embarkation Day

Saturday morning we woke up with lots of anticipation about boarding the Disney Fantasy.  We took our time checking out and having breakfast before heading to the port for our 10:45 port arrival time.  The line was super short and we were all checked in with boarding group 6.  We took some pictures with Mickey and were able to get on the ship.

We headed straight to the pool deck and our kids were the first 2 in the pool.  It was awesome having it all to themselves, especially knowing just how busy it would get later on.  The only downside to being outside were all the love bugs in the air.  Apparently it's love bug season in Florida right now and they were everywhere!

The only time we would see the pool desk this empty!

Enjoying the slide with no line.

First 2 in the pool!

Hitting up the free ice cream right away.  I can't even count the number of ice cream cones these 2 ate on this trip.

After a couple hours of swimming and eating lunch, the sail away party started.  Unfortunately, that's also when the rain started.  But no rain could ruin our good moods as we sailed away from Florida.  We did a quick pit stop to check out the kids club before the muster drill and then headed to our room to unpack and get ready for dinner and the show.

We got lucky with an indoor muster station.

Our rooms were right next door and we were able to open up the divider on the balconies.  We often saw these 2 cute little faces peeking in our room.

Sailing away!  We pulled out during a big storm.  The thunder was so loud.

The first night they had a welcome show.  It got us all excited about our upcoming week.  Our first dinner was in Animator's Palate.  Courtney and I had requested a certain dining rotation and we were happy to see they accommodated us.  This night in animator's palate, they had turtle talk with crush on the screens.  We thought we would get lucky with him coming to our table, as we were seated right by 1 of the screens, but we weren't.  It was still fun to watch though and the kids loved playing the "guess the picture" game that was going on most of dinner.

All cleaned up for dinner.  We had the late seating - 8:15

These port hole seats are a favorite among the kids.

My kids were just not very excited at all about the characters this trip.

This girl didn't want to waste a single drop of her Mickey ice cream bar!

After our first cruise, we got smart and sent the kids to the kids club right after they ate their food.  Then we were able to finish up our dinner in peace.  Since we were all excited and energized our first night, we even kept them in the kids club a bit longer and us adults went to one of the adult bars and watched a comedy show.  It ended up being one of our latest nights, but such a fun one.  We couldn't wait to see what the week would bring!
