January
This is always a slow month for us, which is very much needed after all the holiday hoopla. Emily got to take home Normus, the class guinea pig, for what ended up being the first of many visits. Both kids also started taking swim lessons. This was Em's last year of lessons and Evan's first.
February
Shawn and Emily enjoyed going to the Daddy/Daughter dance for another year. We got a couple of snow days and we took Evan to his very first movie at the theater.
Shawn and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary with a trip to the beach in Hollywood, FL. Back at home we were still getting snow days. I took Emily to see Frozen on Ice and we welcomed 2 new members to our family. . fish!
April
This was a big month for Emily. We got her all registered to start Kindergarten in the Fall! We also hosted our first annual crawfish boil. And of course we celebrated Easter with family and the kids enjoyed the annual Easter egg hunts at school. We also took the kids annual bluebonnet pics. Shawn went on his annual guys canoe trip.
May
This month we moved Evan into a big boy bed. We enjoyed some much needed time outside in the sun after all the rain we had this spring!
June
As usual June was a crazy, busy month for us. Emily graduated from Pre-K and both kids started summer camp at Primrose. Evan turned 3 and we celebrated with a fun party at Pump it Up. Emily participated in her 3rd dance recital. We finished up the month with a fun family vacation in Crested Butte CO with Kevin, Julie and the girls.
July
We celebrated 4th of July with friends in Addison and swimming over at Uncle Scott's. Evan had a milestone this month - he got his first (and hopefully last) set of stitches. I also got to sneak in a girl's trip to Vegas.
August
This was another big month for us. We soaked up our last few weeks of summer before Emily started Kindergarten at Isbell Elementary and Evan started Preschool at Primrose. It was a sad/happy day for this mama!
September
We all got into our groove with our new routines and Emily settled right in with Kindergarten. She got to participate in her first Fun Run. She also started soccer on the Doodlebugs team.
October
October is always busy for us. We spent a lot of the month doing fun fall activities . . pumpkin patch, countdown calendar, trick or treating, etc. Emily turned 6 this month too. We had a party at WOGA all planned for her, but then her darn eczema stopped that. She had been battling terrible eczema for several months. Emily also started girl scouts. Cookie Season here we come!
November
Emily got to participate in her first Kindergarten program. . A Turkey Tribute. We also made the decision to get her tonsils out and she made her first stay in the hospital.
December
This month is always filled with holiday activities. We took the kids to see Santa and Ice at the Gaylord and also ice skating for the first time. Buddy, our elf visited us again and of course, we celebrated Christmas. At the end of the month Emily got her ears pierced.
It's been another fun and busy year. I've slacked a bit on my blogging this year. Time just seems to get away from me the older (and busier) the kids get. I'm hoping to continue to blog as long as I can find the time. I know one day I'll be glad I have all these memories recorded. As of now, we don't have too much planned for 2016, but I'm sure that will change once we get into the year.
