We all had a nice and relaxing holiday break. Since Emily had her tonsils out and needed to be home all week, Shawn and I took turns throughout the week staying home with her. It was nice having some time at home with just her as we still sent Evan to school.
Thursday afternoon we headed to Burleson to celebrate Thanksgiving with Shawn's family. It ended up being a rainy day, but we still had fun and I was so glad that Em felt well enough to be able to go. She sure enjoyed her easy mac that she ate on Thanksgiving Day. But don't feel too bad for her, she informed us she was not at all upset about missing out on turkey since Thanksgiving food is not her favorite. I'm sad that I didn't take more pictures while we were there, but here are a few selfies with 2 of the people I'm most thankful for this year.

Friday morning, my mom and I headed out to do our annual Black Friday shopping. Shawn held down the fort at home and got all the Christmas decorations out of the attic and got the tree all put together. It was another rainy day, but we decided we still needed to get out that night and do something fun with the kids. So we took them to Studio Movie Grill to see a movie. We saw The Good Dinosaur. It was super cute! We thought eating dinner during the movie would help occupy Evan, but it was short lived. With about 30 minutes left, he was done, so him and Shawn sat in the car and waited for me and Em.

It was another rainy day on Saturday. In the morning we decorated the house for Christmas. Emily was super excited about doing this and insisted it was the first thing we do after breakfast. So by 8:30 am the tree was decorated. I spent the rest of the afternoon finishing up the other areas of the house.

Nothing like decorating for Christmas while wearing Halloween jammies.
We had 4 tickets to go to the Texas Legends basketball game that night, but Evan refused to take a nap and turned into a grump, so Em and Shawn just went. Em loved having a Daddy/Daughter date night.

At least cotton candy is a soft food that she could eat.

Not sure if she enjoyed the game or the food more.
We woke up to yet another cold and rainy day on Sunday. By now I was over the rain! I finished up some last minute decorating and then early afternoon, Em and I headed out to go see Miracle on 34th street at the Dallas Children's Theater with Aunt Julie, Lauren and Natty. It was a super cute play and all the girls seemed to really enjoy it.

At the end they got to meet the Santa from the play.
I enjoyed our break so much. We all had gotten used to staying up later and sleeping in, that it was hard to transition back into the school/work routine! I just keep telling myself it's only a few more weeks and we'll be on break again for Christmas. Can't wait!
