Santa's Village

This past weekend we met up with our friends, the Terry's, at Santa's Village in Richardson.  We've never been before, but I heard about it last year and it sounded so much fun.  It's a bunch of child size houses decorated for Christmas and inside each house there is a different activity for the kids.  It was soo much bigger and nicer than I expected.  Santa arrives each night on a firetruck and then goes inside one of the houses.  We didn't wait in line to see him since we had just seen him at the Gaylord, but we saw him walking from the firetruck.  Emily and Aubrey had a blast running around and doing all the activities.

All ready to go - It was 80 degrees this weekend, so no need to bundle up.

Emily and Aubrey playing on the sleighs.  Elves pulled kids around in these sleighs.

The post office.  We didn't make it in this one.  By the time it opened and we got back to it, the line was super long.  I think kids write santa a letter and mail it in this house.

The Beary Good Hospital.  Here kids were weighed and measured.

I can't remember the name of this house, but they got to color a picture here.

The Ornament Factory.  They made christmas tree ornaments here.

The Polar Bear Credit Union.  The kids got a bank to take home in here.

The Symphony Hall.  The kids got to play instruments here.

Santa's Police Station - another we didn't wait in line for.  The kids got to take a picture with the police dog character and dress up like a policeman.

Mrs. Claus Bake Shop. The kids got cookies in here.

Along with these houses, there was also a pet shop, a tv station, a reindeer feeding station, Santa's house and more.  There were so many houses we didn't even get to them all. I think this is an event we'll have to keep on our Christmas calendar each year.
