Happy 4th of July!

We started off our 4th of July holiday by going to the Plano parade with my mom, Kevin, Julie, Lauren and Natalie.  My Dad decided to sit the parade out.  I think this is the 3rd time we've taken Em to it and Evan's first time.  It's your typical neighborhood parade, but the kids love it!  Evan was very antsy while we were waiting for the parade to start.  He just wanted to run away from us, but once it started he sat very still on Aunt Julie's lap!  He ended up loving the parade.

Playing frisbee before the parade started.

Thank goodness this boy loves his Aunt Julie and would sit with her.

Don't let this pic fool you.  He sat like this for about 30 seconds before he darted into the street.  Good thing it was closed and there was no traffic coming.  Lauren got very good at chasing him down!

Cousins - Lauren (8), Evan (2), Natalie (6), Emily (4)
Evan is the only boy cousin on my side.

After the parade we went home and all took a much needed nap before heading down to Burleson to celebrate with Shawn's family.

KK has a blow up pool for the kids and mine loved playing it.

Shawn's brother, Scott, and his wife Stephanie

Shawn's mom bought a ton of silly string and we all had a silly string fight.  So much fun!

Evan loved it and just wanted more and more string on him.

Enjoying his cookie.  Notice his wet shorts. . he decided he wanted to go back into the pool after putting his clothes on.

Cousins - Emily (4), Mason (9), Myles (6) and Evan (2)
Emily is the only girl cousin on Shawn's side.

Silly cousin pic.

Helping Grandpa Joe clean up the silly string.

KK lives outside of the city limits so people set off a ton of fireworks.  KK and Uncle Scott had bought some to set off.  We started off slow with sparklers.

Evan would hold it for a second and then just drop it on the ground.

Evan was scared to death of the big ones, so I took him inside while the rest of them finished setting them off.  And who can really blame him. . .I'm not scared of the big ones that the cities shoot off, but the little ones that people can buy and set off on their own scare me to death.  haha.  You just never know when those things will misfire.

4th of July through the years. . .
