Daddy/Daughter Camping Trip

Shawn has been wanting to take Em camping for quite some time now, but it just seems like there is always something going on that makes them not be able to go or the weather is bad.  But they finally were able to go this past weekend.  My brother and nieces tagged along which I think made it even more fun for everyone.

They drove about an hour north up to Lake Texoma and stayed at a campground.  While they did sleep in a tent, they still had access to water, electricity and bathrooms.  I don't think the girls were quite ready to completely rough it.  They rented a pontoon boat for a couple of hours and from the pics I got it seems like they all had a blast.  When Em got home she told me all about swimming in the green water and how she didn't like having to wear the ugly life jacket.  Ha.  But she did love getting to drive the boat.

They cooked hotdogs and smores over the fire for dinner and then all went to bed.  Shawn said Em wouldn't go to sleep until he was in the tent with her.

Shawn built an air conditioner for the tent.

They were all up early Sunday morning and enjoyed some breakfast tacos before heading home.  All the girls seemed to have had a lot of fun, but I think they were all really tired (and stinky, if you want me to be honest..haha).  After a bath and some lunch, Em took a 4 hour nap!!!  Hmm. . maybe I'll suggest they go camping every weekend.  :)

Evan was really sad that he couldn't go this year, but maybe next year we'll be able to take a family camping trip.  In fact, Em is already asking when she gets to go camping again.
