We all got ready for our first full day at the beach. I couldn't wait! The house we stayed at was right at the beach, so we packed up some stuff and headed down knowing we could just run back up to the house if we needed to. It ended out working great! We also brought the kids back to the house around noon each day and fed them lunch and had them lay down for naps.
The ocean was soo clear. .much more so than I expected it to be. And the sand was so white and soft, with very few seashells. I'll start off by saying that both Em and Evan had a mini meltdown every day when we first got to the beach. Em's eczema was really bad during the trip and the sand and salt water just irritated it even more. She really only went swimming in the ocean our first 2 beach days, then she just wanted to build sandcastles or swim in the pool the rest of the week. And well Evan, he was really only happy if he was in the water which wasn't always easy to do since he really wanted to swim himself. I'll admit, after a while, I got so tired of the crying and tears! Haha. My nieces on the otherhand, had a ball in the ocean! They spent tons of time out there on their boogie boards. I loved just sitting by the ocean and I enjoyed my fair share of swimming too.
We spent most of the day out by the beach and then headed back up to the house for dinner. Shawn and Kevin grilled out hamburgers and hotdogs this day.
