Destin Trip Day 3 - The Beach and Baytowne Wharf

We were up early again on Monday morning and headed right to the beach again.  Both my kids had another mini meltdown when we first got to the beach, but once they got that out of their system, they both seemed to really enjoy it this day.  My dad was definitely the best at getting both the kids out into the water.  We did see lots of jellyfish this day.  We quickly discovered only 1 of the types stung though.  Nattie was the unfortunate recipient of the jellyfish stings.  She got stung twice.  But she was such a trooper and it never kept her out of the water!

Loved waking up to this view every morning!

Em loved having her 2 cousins with her all week!

Notice how far my dad sat from Evan during breakfast.  Haha.

Building sand castles with Mimi.

My parents friends, Bob and Carole.  They stayed with us for the week.  My parents have known Carole for 30+ years.

The tide came up high this day and created a little pool of water on the beach.  Em loved playing in it.

We all stayed down at the beach until mid afternoon and then after the kids naps, we showered and headed out to an area not too far from where we were staying called Baytowne Wharf.  When we got there we realized just how hot it was when you weren't right by the water.  We were all sweating to death!  But the good side about going early was that it wasn't too crowded yet and the kids were able to do some fun activities without having to wait in any lines.  All the kids enjoyed the carousel and then the girls each took a turn jumping on a big trampoline.  Evan really wanted to jump too, but he was just a little too small.  After a little more walking, we decided it was time to find a place to eat dinner and cool off!  And of course we couldn't leave without some ice cream after dinner.

Cousins - Emily (4), Evan (2), Natalie (6) and Lauren (8)

The girls couldn't pass up the photo booth.  Evan was happy just sitting on the floor of the booth.

Funny faces

Wondering what those crazy girls are doing.

Dinner time. . Shawn was the photographer.  :)

We attempted a family pic when we got back to the house.  This was the best we got.  Ha
