Stepping Stones

Shawn came up with the idea for the kids to make stepping stones a while ago and they finally got made this last week!  After having made the ones from the kits before, we knew they didn't last.  So Shawn went and handmade the ones for our garden.  He bought some concrete from the hardware store and the kids had fun helping him mix it last weekend.

Evan got a little distracted during the mixing process.

After all that mixing, they poured it into the molds Shawn built and let it set for a little bit.  After it had started to harden up, the kids made hand prints and a footprint.

We set them outside to dry for several days and then Shawn took them out of the molds and voila, we had 2 stepping stones for our garden.  I love them!

And I couldn't resist posting a few other random pics I took from that night.  Most nights in the summer we play outside before and after dinner.  The kids love it.

This one in particular loves playing outside.  We usually have to drag him in kicking and screaming.
