May Little Things

Here are all the little things we were up to in May:

Em wrapped up middle school sports.  It was a BUSY year.  She did cheerleading, volleyball, cross country, track and soccer.  All on top of club soccer.  Middle school sports weren't always easy, but I'm so glad she tried so many new things.  I know she made so many memories.

She did get to wrap up the year in a good way.  Em and 3 of the other 7th grade soccer players were invited to compete with the 8th grade team in the 8th grade district tourney.   They played 3 games in some blistering heat, all with just an hour or so break in between.  They were able to beat Griffin and Pearson to meet up with Pioneer in the finals.  Pioneer had only played 1 game prior due to their first game getting forfeited.  In the end, Pioneer came out on top, but I was so proud of Em and how well she played.  She even got 1 goal and 1 assist in the tourney.  She and the other 7th graders made a huge difference and was super proud of the Vandy team for walking away with a second place finish.

Shawn went to Hollywood, FL for a work conference.

Emily's club team participated in the League Challenge Cup tourney one weekend.  They played 3 games and ended up going 1-1-1.  They were supposed to play a 4th game, but it got rained out.

Shawn and Evan went and got some crawfish 1 night for dinner.

They have been spending lots of time in the pool / hot tub too.

Emily got to go to the roughriders game with all the 7th graders.

Em celebrated the last day of school with friends.

In case the soccer tournaments the 2 prior weekends weren't enough, Em had 1 last tournament with her renegades team.  They competed in the Shawnee Trail tourney.  They walked away with a first place finish!

Shawn and I have been doing a diet program for the last couple of months and because of that we had to cancel our annual crawfish boil.  Evan asked if we could do a small one just for us, but we came up with the idea of doing a lobster boil instead.  Em wasn't interested in eating lobster, but Shawn, Evan and I were!
