We woke up Wednesday to clouds and drizzle. I was just hoping it wouldn't rain all day. We got all ready and checked out of the hotel before making the short drive to La Jolla. I wanted so show the kids all the seals at the children's pool. Evan of course couldn't wait to touch the ocean and run around the beach. We took a scenic drive up to Torrey Pines State Beach before heading back to La Jolla for lunch. We ate at Duke's. I was bummed it was rainy and cold because they had a nice patio overlooking the ocean. Oh well.
After lunch we headed back downtown to tour the USS Midway. By now the rain had really started to pick up and it was cold and windy too. I wish the weather had been nicer, but we all still really enjoyed walking around and seeing the planes and touring the aircraft carrier. I think we all decided we could never live on 1 of those. Not sure how those sailors do it.
After a few hours of exploring the USS Midway, we made our way over the bridge to our 2nd hotel of the trip. We were staying at the Hotel Del Coronado for 2 nights. This hotel was right on the beach. After checking in and exploring the grounds, we made our way to dinner right across the street from the hotel.
