Conversations With Emily

Emily and I were driving in the car this weekend and she announced that she was really tired.  I didn't want her to fall asleep in the car, so this is what I told her. 

Me: "Ok, you can take a nap when we get home.  I think that's a great idea."

Emily: "I don't want to take a nap."

Me: "But you just said you were tired."

Emily: "But Mommy, I'm like a stapler."

Me: "Huh?

Emily: "You know how a stapler is full of staples, well that's how I am.  And even when I'm not full of staples, I always have enough in there to make it feel like I'm full."

Me: "Hmm, that's an interesting analogy, Em!"
