Merry Christmas

Em was up bright and early Christmas morning.  I'm talking 5:30 am!  Luckily, we had closed the baby gate at the top of the stairs and that kept her from sneaking down.  Evan slept in until around 7:30.  I was exhausted after our busy Christmas Eve, but was excited to see the look on the kids faces when they saw what Santa brought them.

Em was so excited when she saw that Santa brought her a Barbie dreamhouse and Evan loved his grill!  After checking out their presents from Santa, we let them open their gifts from Shawn and I. Evan could have cared less about opening any more presents, so Em and I helped him open his.
Santa brought Evan a grill, sleeping bag, Amazon kindle and a pop gun.  Em got a Barbie dreamhouse, a makeup kit, an Amazon kindle and a pop gun.

This girl was so excited and couldn't wait to go downstairs to see what Santa left her.

We headed over to my parents house around 10:00 to open presents with them and have brunch. After just a couple of hours, we loaded everything into the car and made the trek to Burleson to have Christmas with Shawn's mom and her family.  We took a long way and got the kids to each take about a 45 minute nap.  By 7:00 the kids were just as exhausted as Shawn and I, so we headed back home.  After some quick baths, the kids were off to bed.

Cousins - Evan (2), Emily (5), Natalie (7), Lauren (9)

I say this every year, but once Christmas comes, I'm so ready for it to be over.  It is literally exhausting to wake up so early and be on the go all day.
