We always kick off our Christmas festivities with a busy Christmas Eve. This year, Em and I went to Christmas Eve Mass with all of my family, while Shawn and Evan stayed home. There's no way Evan would have sat through a normal Mass, let alone one where we had to be there 30-45 minutes early. After Mass, Shawn and Evan met Em and I over at my cousin's house for dinner. We had a nice time visiting with everyone and exchanging our secret Santa gifts. Before long we could tell the kids were getting pretty tired, so we packed up and headed back to our house. We couldn't call it a night before putting out the reindeer food and the milk and cookies for Santa though.

I was worried it might take Em a while to fall asleep with all the excitement of Santa coming the next morning, but she either was super tired or decided she better just stay in her room to ensure Santa's visit. I think we were all in bed around 10:30, although I know I didn't fall asleep until around 12:30.
