Emily's First Gymnastics Meet

Emily has been taking gymnastics at WOGA for about a year and a half now.  Every spring and fall they have an In House Meet that you can sign up for. We've never done it before, but decided to sign Em up this time.  It's the only time that parents actually get to sit in the gym (vs. in the lobby) and the kids rotate through each event showing what they have learned.  Since I normally don't get to take Em to her weekly class, I was excited to see what all she can do.

They started out by announcing all the kids names and then they moved to their first event.  Em's group was at the beam.

Forward roll on the beam.

Em's second rotation was the trampoline.  She tells me this is her favorite thing to do at gymnastics.

Her third rotation was a mix of floor and vault.
Someone looks pretty tired while waiting for their turn - the meet was right during her naptime!

Backwards Roll
The fourth rotation was another mix of floor and vault.

Em's final rotation was my favorite to watch her on, the bars.  She did her front pullover all by herself!  Her coach said she was so close to getting it when I took her to class last Wednesday.  I was so proud that she did it all by herself today.  She was proud of herself too.

Doing her front pullover with no help from the coach.

After all the rotations, each of the kids names were announced again and they got to go up to the podium where they each got a trophy and certificate.

Em did great at her first meet and she told us she can't wait to do it again!  We're so proud of our little gymnast.
