Weekend Recap - Haircuts and the Circus

Saturday morning we took both kids to get haircuts.  Evan needed a trim, but Em needed a major cut.  She hasn't had her hair cut since last summer and it had just gotten so long.  With her natural curls, it just ended up in lots of tangles each morning and night.

Before pics. . .

After pic. . she got almost 3 inches cut off.  I love her new do!

I do feel like her haircut made her look so much older!
Saturday afternoon, Kevin, Julie and the girls came over for dinner.  It was such pretty weather outside, we spent most of the time in the backyard.

Lauren reading to Evan.  (Notice Evan got a much shorter do too)

Sunday morning we had a special treat for the kiddos.  Our friends, the Gists, invited us to go to the circus.  It was in the arena right down the street from us, so we couldn't pass it up.  They had a preshow an hour beforehand, where you could ride a pony, an elephant, a camel, have your face painted, etc.  Little did we know everything would cost money. . a lot of money.  So we ended up just doing pony rides and then walking around to see the clowns.

See the elephants behind us?  You could ride them for a mere $15.  We decided to just take a picture of them instead. :)

Em enjoyed the clowns..  .Evan not so much.

But they both really loved the bubbles!

Em insisted on having some cotton candy.  Evan got his first taste of it and loved it as well.

We stayed up until intermission.  Evan was getting pretty restless and was very ready to go.  We found out later it was because he wasn't feeling well.  Em cried when we left because she was having so much fun.  Haha. . we can't please everyone. I told her I'm sure we'll be back to another circus someday.
