Saturday afternoon we headed to Burleson to celebrate Easter with Shawn's mom and family. The day didn't start out that well and little did we know it would only go downhill from there. Em woke up not feeling great Saturday morning, but wasn't running a fever. She said she was well enough to go to Burleson so we went. We planned on taking an extra long route and just letting the kids take their naps in the car. That plan worked out ok. Em took about a 30-45 min. nap and Evan got in an hour nap.
As soon as we arrived at KK's, Em told us she just wanted to lay down. By now she seemed to be running a fever. Since we just made the hour drive we decided to just give her some medicine and set her up in KK's room to watch tv and rest.
Evan was in great spirits though and loved just running around KK's backyard. He found the bubble machine and was in heaven.

| Evan refused to be in the cousin pic, but here are the other 3 - Myles (6), Emily (4) and Mason (8) |
| The best family pic we could get. |
Another tradition KK has, is to get confetti eggs and everyone goes wild with them in the backyard. Evan LOVED them! Shawn and Evan took turns breaking a whole carton of confetti eggs on each other. The big laughs coming out of this boy were awesome. I could have watched the 2 of them do this all day. :)

So after all the confetti eggs were gone, we started to notice that Evan's lips were swelling up. He kept rubbing his eyes too and before long his whole face was swollen. We realized he was having some kind of allergic reaction and we're assuming it was to the butterfinger. :( At this point, between Evan and Em we decided we just needed to leave and head back home. We stopped and got some Benadryl for Evan and I really hoped it would help. He screamed the whole way home. He was just so itchy and couldn't get comfortable. By this point his whole body was covered in red welts and bumps. He finally fell asleep when we reached Frisco. After getting home, we gave him a bath and put him to bed. I checked on him quite a bit to make sure he was breathing ok, which he was.
This was not at all how I pictured this day going. I was just so bummed that we couldn't enjoy the day! All I was hoping was that when we woke up on Easter, everyone would be healthy!
