Happy 22 months, little man. We're on the countdown until your second birthday now!
Just like the last few months, you're language skills have exploded this month. You now talk in sentences and repeat everything we say. You are like a little sponge right now! You can sing a ton of songs. You know twinkle, twinkle little star, row row row your boat, baa baa black sheep, wheels on the bus and can sing the ABC song up to the letter G. You know all your shapes (rectangle, square, circle, triangle, star, heart, diamond). You are quite a smart little guy!
You are still extremely attached to your lovey and paci, which you now call "daddy." At this point, I don't know when we'll start working on eliminating it. You still despise brushing your teeth and Daddy and I literally have to hold you down just to get a tooth brush in your mouth. It's no fun for any of us!
This month you started swim lessons with Daddy and you seem to really be enjoying it. Daddy says you have no fear, which doesn't surprise me at all. You have no fear when it comes to anything! He says you're a pro at climbing out of the pool. Haha. You have started blowing bubbles underwater during bathtime, so this is one skill you don't have to work on during swim lessons.
You are still the fastest 22 month old that I know. It's tough for me to catch you when you are at full speed. And of course you love to run from me and your Daddy! You have more energy than I think I've ever had in my whole life. Haha. Even though it's tough for me to keep up with you, I sure love you, my little ball of energy!
Reading books continue to be one of your favorite activities. Several times a day we find you either pulling books off Emily's bookshelf or rocking in your chair reading your own books. I hope your love of books continues for a long time.
You have a few other random things that you've started doing this month. You will put both fingers in your ears and act like it's too noisy. You love watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and will walk around asking for the Hot Dog dance. If we ask you to smile for a picture, you will grin and say cheese.
It's been a fun month with you! I love seeing how much you grow and develop each month. I often times ask you if you are a baby or a big boy. More often than not, you tell me you are a big boy. I'm not sure I'm ready to admit this to myself just yet, but I know you are well on your way to being a big boy!
