San Antonio Trip Day 3 - Sea World

Wednesday was our earliest day.  We had plans to go to Sea World and we wanted to be there close to opening in order to beat the crowds and the heat.  We did pretty good on our goal. . .I think we ended up getting there 30 minutes after it opened.

I for one, was really looking forward to going to Sea World.  A few in our group ( I won't name names), weren't quite as excited though.  Our plan was to just hit the highlights and then head back to the resort for more pool time in the afternoon.  I was okay with that plan.

The Gists

The Baxters

The Hendricks
We arrived right around the time of Evan's morning nap and as soon as we put him in the stroller, he was asleep.  I thought Em might fall asleep too, but she ended up rallying and got her second wind shortly after we arrived.

The kids definitely had it made with these stroller fans.  Best $5 purchase ever!

We started off at the sea lion show.  Evan was still sleeping, so he and I stood in the back.  Steph was nice and kept me company too.  The others sat down to watch the show.  Court was nice enough to take some pics of Shawn and Em for me.

Evan woke up just as the show was ending which worked out perfectly.  After a bottle, he was happy as could be.  We decided to start making our way over to the Shamu show, but since we had some time to spare we stopped by the penguin exhibit first.  Who doesn't love penguins?!  They were definitely one of my favorite things we saw.  And the best part was we got to be in air conditioning for a bit.

Hard to see, but there are a ton of penguins behind us.

The stroller brigade. . .and no Em isn't sleeping, she's just pretending.
After enjoying the penguins for a while we made a few pit stops on our way to Shamu.

Feeding time!

Sweet Grace and all her souvenir's

We made it in perfect time for the Shamu show.  Luckily it wasn't too packed and we were easily able to all find seats together.  We only had to wait about 5 minutes for the show to start.  It was definitely different than I remember it, but it was still fun to see.  Evan loved it at first, but after about 5 minutes, he started to get a bit antsy.  Em enjoyed watching the whole show.  I'm so glad we made it to this show.  It's definitely one of the must see shows at Sea World.

By the time the show was over we were all pretty hungry.  We made the mistake of going to the same place everyone else did and ended up having to wait a while for lunch, but it ended up working out ok.

I think Evan may have had a whole lunch consisting of watermelon and french fries, but that's ok on vacation, right?

Sweet girls. . they were such good buds on this trip!

After lunch we had hopes of making the Elmo Live show over in the kids Sesame Street play area, but lunch took too long and we missed it.  Thankfully, we didn't tell the kids about the show before lunch, so they had no idea we missed anything.

We did still walk over to the kids area though as we thought the bigger kids might like to play in the splash park.  On the stroll over both Grace and Evan fell asleep.  I thought Em would love the splash park, but it was so crowded and she lost sight of me for a minute and I think that scared her.  As a result, she really wanted nothing to do with the splash park.  Leah and Lane loved it though!

They also had a neat area where you could meet Elmo and take pictures on Sesame Street.  However, Em decided Elmo was a bit too scary in person and wasn't up for this.

After the splash park we were all a bit worn out and hot.  We decided it was time to head back to the resort.  Overall, we had a great time and I'm really glad we did decide to make the trip to Sea World.  I really feel like it's one of those places in San Antonio that's a must see when you have kids.  I'm sure we'll make it back again one of these years.

Upon returning to the condo, the kids played a bit before we all changed into our suits and headed back out to the lazy river.  Evan and Shawn did hang back so Evan could get a good nap in.  They headed down once he woke up.  We ended up eating dinner down by the river and ended up closing the place down.

Lane cracked me up the whole trip.  His favorite thing was playing in the sand.  He was so good and perfectly content doing his own thing.

Family float. . . Leah took Evan's spot though.  :)

Evan hung back to play with his buddy.

These tubes are fun!

Ok, not so fun anymore!

Cool Baby

First kiss with his best bud Grace.

Love little Lane (and his huge diaper :) )

Em enjoyed playing with Lane.  Pretty sure it's because he would let her boss him around.  haha

Back to the room after a long day!
Once again we ended the night with baths for all the kiddos.  Evan even jumped in the bath with Grace.  :)  It had been a long day and all the kids were tired!

Only 1 more full day left!
