Bright and early Saturday morning we headed over to the Arnold's house to have breakfast with Santa. It was potluck style, so each family was in charge of bringing a breakfast item. While the kids were eating breakfast, Santa and Mrs. Claus made their big arrival. To say Emily wasn't excited, was an understatement. She saw Santa out the window and wanted to get as far away from him as possible. After greeting all the kids, Santa pulled a gift out his bag for each child to open. When he called out Em's name, Shawn took her up and tried to ger her to sit on his lap. That didn't happen, so instead she sat on Shawn's lap. This didn't help the situation much. She didn't want to be anywhere near Santa. Here are a few pics of her reaction.
Yes, she screamed at the top of her lungs the entire time she was near Santa. The picture where she's pointing. . .that's her pointing to the other room and saying "that way."
After all the gifts were given out, Santa read "The night before Christmas" to all the kids. Em did much better this time (as long as she was in the back on Daddy's lap).
Now I'm glad we didn't go to the mall and spend an hour in line for this reaction. The Santa breakfast was all Em needed to get her Santa fix in.
