2019 Year In Review

2019 was quite a year! I would say it was one of our busiest years yet.  Here's a look back at all the highlights from 2019. .

January:

We kicked off the new year in Truckee, CA.  We visited the Hendricks family and took our first ski trip.

Shawn and KK took the kids to the Fort Worth zoo on one of their days off from school.

And Evan received the character trait award at school for showing a zest for learning.

February:

February was a much slower paced month for us.  The kids enjoyed celebrating Valentine's Day at school.

And we checked out the new Ninja Nation with friends, when the kids were out of school one day.

March:

The month started off with Spring Break.  We ended up making a last minute trip to Broken Bow, OK after being invited by our friends, the Gists.

The kids also got to go to Lake Tyler with KK for a couple nights.

Emily received the character trait award this month for showing a growth mindset.

April:

In April, we checked out Candytopia with the cousins.

We celebrated Easter.

Shawn went to the Masters with 3 of his friends.

May:

All the sports wrapped up for the season.

Emily participated in the school talent show with her friends.

Shawn went on a fishing trip to Galveston with his cousin, William.

School finished up for the year.

June:

We kicked off June with a surprise trip on a Disney Cruise.

Evan turned 7 and celebrated with a birthday party at Pinstack.

The kids went to several camps, including a week at Pine Cove Camp in the City.

July:

Emily tried out for a select soccer team and made it.  She got to go to her first soccer signing party.

Evan got his tonsils and adenoids taken out.

While Evan was recovering, Emily went to a Volleyball camp and a Rock Climbing camp.

Shawn and I went to an Old 97's concert 1 night with Kevin and Julie.  And another day we went and took a tour of a Whiskey Distillery.

At the end of the month, we took the kids to NYC for the first time.  KK even came with us.

August:

School started back up. . .2nd and 4th grade.

Emily played in her first soccer tournament with her new team.  In fact, they had back to back weekends of tournaments.

September:

Shawn and the kids went to west TX with Scott and the boys to go hunting over Labor Day weekend.  Too bad they didn't see a single bird.  But they still had fun.

Shawn went to their annual Cowboys/Giants game with my family.

We went to Oktoberfest in downtown McKinney.

October:

Emily turned 10!  We celebrated at Uncle Julio's with a chocolate pinata.

We went to watch Texas Tech play a baseball game at the Roughrider's field.

Evan went on his very first Boy Scout camping trip and had the best time ever.

We went trick or treating with friends.

November:

Emily had another tournament weekend for soccer and this time they came away with the silver medal.

Emily also celebrated her 10th birthday with her friends by going to Dry Bar and then Benihana.

We celebrated Thanksgiving at KK's.

December:

We went to Six Flags Holiday in the Park.

Evan received the character trait award at school for showing curiosity.

We went to Dripping Springs, TX the weekend before Christmas and ventured out to a few close by towns.

We celebrated Christmas.

That was quite a year!  We already have several fun things to look forward to in 2020.  Can't wait to see what else it might bring.
