January Little Things

Here are all the little things we were up to in January . . .

On New Year's day we went to Top Golf with our friends, the Terry's.  It was the perfect low-key day to wrap up the holidays.

Emily got 2 weeks off from soccer for the xmas break, but her coach gave them all a workout plan to complete while they were off.  1 day she had to run a mile.  Since it was so cold outside, she did it on the treadmill.

Shawn took both kids to Northpark mall to see the trains on one of their days off during Christmas break.

Evan got a hammock for Christmas.  Since we don't have 2 trees in our backyard to hang it on, we hung it in his room.

Both kids built a pine wood derby car.  Evan got to race them for boy scouts.  Shawn and the kids put a ton of effort into their cars, but unfortunately, they didn't win.

Emily received the character trait award in January for showing a zest for learning.

Me and my neighbor, Colleen, took the kids out to a restaurant one afternoon and then all 4 kids begged us to go to Pinstack afterwards.  We sent this picture to the Dad's of them trying to convince us.

Emily had a soccer tournament one weekend.  They were actually supposed to go to Austin, but not enough teams signed up, so they went to a local tournament instead.  They finished in 1st place, but unfortunately this wasn't a tournament where the winners received anything.
