Christmas trip to Dripping Springs, TX

This year Shawn's mom decided to take the whole family on a trip in lieu of getting us presents for Christmas.  We are always up for experiences over things, so we were totally game.  We headed out on the Friday before Christmas for Dripping Springs.   Unfortunately, between everyone else heading out of town and the rainy weather, it took us 5 hours to get to the house.

The house was awesome!  It was big enough for all of us. . over 20 people. .and had a huge backyard.  Luckily we had great weather once the rain passed through on Friday.

Saturday we decided to venture into Fredericksburg.  We started at Enchanted Rock.  Gosh, it was a harder climb than I had remembered!  Evan and Shawn made it to the very top.  Em and I were very close to the top.  The only reason Em didn't make it all the way was because I was holding her back.

 

After our hike, we drove into town and had lunch and walked around several of the shops before heading back to the house.

When we got back to the house, we had dinner and then played a couple rounds of LCR and spoons.

On Sunday, we headed over to Gruene to eat lunch at the Gristmill and do some more shopping.

 

We headed back to the house to watch the Cowboys game and relax.  Apparently I didn't take any pictures of us hanging out at the house.  oops!

Monday morning we packed up made the drive - 6 hours this time- back home.  It was a quick trip, but it sure was nice to get away for a bit!
