So not only were they too small, but she only had winter clothes (they just pushed the sleeves up). Her teacher told me they were calling her Britney Spears because her belly showed in this shirt. I'm sure this is just another one of the many "mommy fails" to come. It was not my finest moment. But you'll be glad to know she is being sent with new spring/summer backup clothes come Monday.
And finally this morning, we headed off to the Dallas Zoo. Since we're season pass members, we decided to head over there for a few hours and visit the areas we missed on the first trip. We got there right when it opened and we pretty much had the park to ourselves for the first hour or so. We hit the gorilla trail, took a ride on the monorail, and ended up the morning with a ride on the carousel (probably Emily's favorite part). She loved running around the park and seeing the animals. I'm sure we'll go a few more times before the year is up. I didn't take my camera with us this time, but I did snap a picture on my phone while she was riding the carousel.
We only stayed at the zoo a couple hours before coming home so we could eat lunch and Emily could go down for her nap. Apparently, Emily didn't have a good nap because she was not in a good mood this afternoon. She was just so fussy and un-cooperative. So much so that she had her first time out. She was just tearing up each room she went into and just refused to help pick her toys. After her doing this for a couple of hours, I had enough and off to time out she went. Of course she screamed the entire minute she was in time out, but she did sit still. I'm hoping time out doesn't become a common occurence from now on. Luckily she did end the night in a better mood. And just so I remember this. . . lately she's become quite good at stalling before bedtime. Tonight she kissed every one of her dolls and animals (and even chairs) that were in her dollhouse before going to bed.
With the exception of this afternoon, we all had a nice weekend. Now that Shawn's back in town for a while, I think we're all looking forward to just getting back into our normal routine.
