Moving On Up
Emily's school sent home a letter today letting us know that she will start transitioning to the Early Preschool I classroom next week. She'll spend 1 week transitioning and then will be over there full-time the following week. I'm hoping this transition goes smoother than the one from the infant room. Several of her classmates just moved up in the last several weeks, so I'm hoping that helps. She's also familiar with the room and the teachers because that's where she waits in the morning when I drop her off (there are so few kids there when I drop her off at 7:15 that the toddlers play in the EPS I room until around 7:20 - 7:30). I'm sad that's she's moving because it just means she's growing up, but I think she's ready. Just in the last several weeks we have seen a noticeable difference in her. She's communicating so well and picking things up so quickly. I know she's developmentally ready to go to the next room. There are a few big changes that will start happening in the EPS I room. She will start using a regular open cup instead of a sippy cup (we've never tried giving her one at home, so I guess it's time to start doing that) and the other big change. . .this is the room they introduce potty training. Of course, they don't start right away, it's discussed with the parents and teachers as to when they think the child is ready, but I'm excited that it will at least be introduced. Maybe that will help the training process down the road. Oh and I can't forget the most exciting change. . .weekly tuition drops yet again (Woohoo!!). We got her new daily schedule and for the most part it's very similar to the young toddler room, but I did notice they start saying the pledge of allegience in this room. :) I'll keep you all updated on her progress as she makes the transition.
